Newark Police Apprehend 14 Fugitives in December Warrant Sweep

NEWARK, NJ – Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé of Newark announced the successful arrest of 14 individuals with outstanding warrants as part of the city’s Crime Reduction Initiative.

The arrests were made by the Newark Police Division on December 12 and 13, 2023. This operation is a key element of Newark’s ongoing efforts to address crime in the city.

Director Fragé praised the Newark Police Fugitive Apprehension Team for their diligent efforts in securing these apprehensions. He also expressed profound gratitude towards various law enforcement partners who played a crucial role in this operation. Acknowledgments were extended to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the District of New Jersey, U.S. Marshals Service, New Jersey State Police, and University Hospital Medical Services, among others, for their assistance.

These collaborative efforts underscore the commitment of the Newark Police and their partners to enhance public safety and enforce the law effectively.
