NYPD Seeking Suspect in Segwayjacking

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a Segway Scooter theft.

The incident occurred on January 25, around 12 p.m. at the YM/WCA, located at 600 Broad Street.

The victim reported the scooter missing after securing it on January 23.

Surveillance footage captured a Black male suspect, approximately 6’0″ tall, taking the scooter and placing it in a beige Toyota Corolla with noticeable damage.

The suspect was wearing a black face mask, gray sweater, pants, and black boots. Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé asks anyone with information to contact the Newark Police Division’s Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
