Car Thief Captured in Marple Township

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA – On Friday, Marple Township police officers located and apprehended a suspect involved in the theft of a pickup truck.

The incident was initially reported around noon, with the stolen vehicle spotted on West Chester Pike in Marple Township.

Despite attempts to flee, the vehicle became disabled after striking a PECO pole near West Chester Pike and I476.

The suspect, refusing police commands and threatening to possess a firearm, eventually fled on foot onto I476 Highway but was subsequently taken into custody without further incidents.

The Marple Township Police Department acknowledged the support from state and local law enforcement agencies during the incident.
