NEW YORK, NY – An escaped prisoner is back in custody in New York City tonight after authorities searched the city for a man who left Bellevue Hospital while in the custody of the New York City Police Department.
Authorities have confirmed the re-arrest of 23-year-old Christopher Miller, who had escaped from police custody while being treated at NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue. The incident occurred early on Saturday, February 3 at around 3:50 a.m.
Miller, originally held on charges related to an escape, managed to leave his hospital room and fled through a side door of the hospital located near East 28th Street and FDR Drive. Officials have not disclosed details surrounding the circumstances of his escape, including how he was able to leave the room and bypass security measures.
