D.C. Police Investigate Bank Heist Near White House

WASHINGTON, D.C. – An unidentified suspect robbed a bank on K Street in Northwest D.C. yesterday morning, prompting an immediate investigation by the D.C. MPD. The incident occurred yesterday at around 9:20 a.m. when the suspect, implying that he had a gun, demanded cash from a bank teller at the 1700 block location, two blocks from the White House. The teller complied, and the suspect left the premises with an undisclosed amount of money.

Authorities have turned to surveillance footage from the area in hopes of identifying the individual responsible for the robbery. The suspect appeared to be wearing a white utility hat and a fluorescent green vest.

The MPD is urging anyone with information or who recognizes the suspect to refrain from direct intervention and instead contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, tips can be sent anonymously via text to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
