Philadelphia, PA – Phillip Gillard, a 46-year-old resident of Philadelphia, has been convicted on federal charges of drug trafficking and firearm offenses. The conviction was secured on February 16, 2024, following a trial that shed light on a large-scale drug trafficking operation in the Port Richmond area, close to the Memphis Street Academy charter school.

The charges stem from a two-year investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation into the Gillard drug trafficking organization. This group was implicated in supplying substantial quantities of methamphetamine, phencyclidine (PCP), fentanyl, and other narcotics to various traffickers. The investigation, which involved undercover operations and surveillance, led to the indictment of Gillard and eight co-defendants by a grand jury on July 18, 2023.

Law enforcement’s efforts uncovered the organization’s maintenance of three separate properties for their illicit activities, all situated within 1,000 feet of the Memphis Street Academy at 2950 Memphis Street. The operation’s significant seizures included over 20 pounds of pure methamphetamine, three gallons of PCP, one and a half kilograms of cocaine, 900 grams of crack cocaine, 400 grams of fentanyl, and 11 firearms, marking a major blow to local drug trafficking networks.
