EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – It’s bad enough that New York hijacks New Jersey’s two professional football teams, the New York Jets and New York Giants, but now New York Governor Kathy Hochul is hijacking our earthquake.

In a post on X, Hochul only referred to Friday’s 4.8 New Jersey earthquake as “West of Manhattan”.

“A 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit west of Manhattan and has been felt throughout New York,” Hochul said. “My team is assessing impacts and any damage that may have occurred, and we will update the public throughout the day.”

Say it, Governor, “New Jersey.” It happened in New Jersey. New York takes credit for a lot of things in New Jersey, including the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Jets, the Giants, and the list goes on.

This one is ours; go get your own earthquake.
