Police Chase Ends in Deadly Crash in New York

Somers, NY – A 66-year-old man died in a crash after a brief chase with authorities in Northern Westchester, according to police.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, when New York State Police tried to stop a 2019 Nissan Altima on Route 100 in Somers around 3:40 p.m. T

he driver, identified as Mark Frey of Brewster, left the road, hitting a tree and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash closed a portion of Route 100 between Moseman Avenue and Old Route 100 temporarily as emergency crews responded.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
