Police in D.C. Arrest for Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse Offense

Washington, D.C. – Detectives in D.C. have announced the arrest of a man for committing a misdemeanor sexual abuse offense in the Northwest area.

On Wednesday, April 24, at approximately 1 p.m., a woman approached officers at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and L Street, Northwest. She reported that a man brushed against her, initially believing it was accidental. However, upon entering a store in the 1000 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest, the suspect followed her inside and intentionally touched her again. When she confronted him, he fled the scene.

On Friday, May 3, under a D.C. Superior arrest warrant, 53-year-old Bryan Sommers, of no fixed address, was apprehended by United States Secret Service Uniformed Division officers. He has been charged with Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse.
