New Rochelle Man Arrested for Serious Assault with Baseball Bat

New Rochelle, NY — A New Rochelle man has been arrested following a serious assault involving a baseball bat that left two men with severe head injuries.

On Sunday, at approximately 3:45 a.m., New Rochelle Police responded to an assault report at the corner of Washington Avenue and Fourth Street. Officers found a 36-year-old man and his 66-year-old uncle with serious head injuries.

The older victim was breathing but unresponsive and required surgery after being transported to a nearby hospital.

New Rochelle detectives developed leads that resulted in the arrest of Jose Ochoa, 28, of New Rochelle. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact New Rochelle Police at 914-654-2300.

The victims’ names have not been released.
