New Holland, PA – A New Holland man is set to face eight charges in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas related to the alleged killing of four dogs in October 2023.
John S. Stoltzfus Jr., 46, waived his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Heisse on Tuesday, concerning four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and four counts of cruelty to animals.
On October 31, 2023, Lancaster County Detectives were contacted by the New Holland Police Department regarding the deaths of four black Sheepadoodle puppies named Tammy, Terry, Todd, and Tom.
New Holland Police were informed by an employee at Greenfield Puppies about Stoltzfus’ request to remove the puppies from their website, citing that “black puppies aren’t selling” as the reason for their euthanasia.
Stoltzfus admitted to not seeking veterinary assistance for the dogs and personally taking the actions to end their lives himself. A serious offense, it led to the charges filed against him being reviewed in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas.
