Church Burglar Shot Multiple Times in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD – A 59-year-old man was shot early Sunday morning while allegedly burglarizing a church under construction in Baltimore’s Southwest District. The incident occurred around 7:56 a.m. on the 100 block of South Mount Street.

Southwest District patrol officers responded to the scene following reports of a shooting and discovered the man suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a nearby hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary findings suggest the man was inside the vacant church when the shooting took place. Detectives are conducting interviews to ascertain the circumstances leading up to the incident.
