Taking Care of Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Homeless Population

by Breaking Local News Report

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Early this morning, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office (ACPO) collaborated with the Atlantic City Police Department (ACPD) and Jewish Family Services (JFS) for a boardwalk outreach event on Arkansas Avenue, in front of Caesars Pier. The initiative followed the long holiday weekend, focusing on scanning the boardwalk, beach, and areas under the piers.

During the outreach, an encampment was discovered under Caesars Pier where a fire was actively burning. The fire was promptly extinguished, and the individual responsible for starting it was arrested.

The ACPO stated that their outreach efforts would persist, emphasizing the goal of connecting displaced individuals with appropriate services to support their needs.
