Woman Robbed and Assaulted Outside Yankee Stadium

BRONX, NY — Police responded to a violent incident early Wednesday morning in the Bronx, where a 56-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed by two unknown assailants.

The attack occurred around 12:18 AM near River Avenue and East 161st Street, just outside the subway station. After exiting the station, the woman became involved in an argument with the two individuals, who complimented her purse in Spanish before escalating to violence.

The attackers struck the woman in the face with a scooter, followed by punches, resulting in injuries to her face, arm, and hand. They then seized her purse and fled toward Walton Avenue. Emergency services transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where she is currently in stable condition.

Authorities are searching for two individuals, both described as females with light complexions, in connection with the assault and robbery. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
