Suffolk County Woman Tells Cops She Had Cocaine After Crash

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA – A local Stafford woman faces charges of driving under the influence and possession of controlled substances following an early morning accident.

The incident occurred on June 3rd when deputies from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office were called to Greenbank Road around 6:32 a.m. for a report of a single-vehicle accident involving a Mitsubishi Lancer that had collided with a power line pole.

According to police, the woman admitted to having cocaine.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies engaged with the driver, a 44-year-old woman, who initially claimed that her tiredness had caused the accident.

However, deputies noted her slurred speech, disorientation, and lethargy, which suggested she was under the influence. During the interaction, Deputy F.C. O’Neill noticed a bulge in the woman’s sock. When questioned, the woman admitted to possessing cocaine.

The woman is currently hospitalized for injuries sustained during the accident, and warrants for her arrest have been issued. These charges will be served upon her release from the hospital, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
