Drunk Driving Blamed for Two Serious Weekend Crashes in Clarkstown

Clarkstown, NY – The Clarkstown Police Department responded to two incidents of driving while intoxicated in the early hours of Sunday.

The first incident occurred just after midnight on Route 59 in West Nyack, where a 46-year-old male from Tarrytown failed to stop, resulting in a two-car accident with injuries. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was processed at CPD, with a future court date set in Clarkstown Justice Court.

Shortly before 4:00 a.m., officers were called to Germonds Rd. in New City where they found an overturned vehicle.

The 22-year-old male from Spring Valley, the sole occupant, was discovered to be driving while intoxicated. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and later released with a future court appearance scheduled in Clarkstown Justice Court.
