Suffolk County Police Helicopter and Marine Unit Rescue Stranded Paddleboarders

by Breaking Local News Report

MOUNT SINAI, NY—Two paddleboarders were rescued from strong tides at Cedar Beach, Mount Sinai, thanks to the rapid response of Suffolk County Police Department units yesterday afternoon.

The incident unfolded when the Suffolk County Police helicopter, patrolling above the Long Island Sound, located the two females. They had ingeniously tied their paddleboards together to maintain stability. The helicopter crew relayed their precise location to the marine patrol.

Officers Chris Defeo and Timothy Dillon of Marine Delta swiftly reached the scene and successfully pulled the women to safety. Despite the challenging conditions that had prevented their return to shore, both paddleboarders were unharmed in the ordeal.
