by Breaking Local News Report

BOSTON, MA – Boston Police District B-2 (Roxbury) officers arrested Erroll Gomes, 33, of Dorchester, early Friday morning, following a traffic stop at 80 Walnut Ave, Roxbury. The arrest, which took place around 1:20 AM, involved charges related to firearm and drug offenses.

The incident began when officers, patrolling Quincy St. toward Blue Hill Ave., noticed a helmetless scooter driver—later identified as Gomes—run a red light at Quincy St. and Warren St. After repositioning their cruiser, officers located Gomes behind an apartment building on Walnut Ave.

Upon attempting a traffic stop, Gomes fled on foot but was apprehended after colliding with a fence on Walnut Ct. During his arrest, officers discovered two plastic bags of suspected crack cocaine protruding from his mouth.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a loaded Bryco Arms Jennings Model 48 .380 Auto handgun in the scooter’s storage compartment. The firearm was equipped with ammunition.

Gomes faces multiple charges, including carrying and possessing a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and trespassing. He was also cited for not wearing a helmet, ignoring a red light, and operating an unregistered moped. Gomes is set to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
