Man Sought in Connection with Assault at 96th Street Subway Station

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection with an assault that took place early Tuesday morning on a subway platform in Manhattan.

According to the NYPD, at approximately 3:28 a.m., a 52-year-old man was standing on the northbound “6” train platform at the 96th Street station when an unidentified individual approached and struck him with an unknown object. The attack left the victim with a laceration on the right side of his neck. The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and is currently in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a green shirt and red sweatpants.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident to contact the NYPD.
