Wilkes-Barre Police Arrest Woman on Assault and Terroristic Threats Charges

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — An 18-year-old woman was arrested early on August 24, 2024, after allegedly attempting to stab a man during a domestic dispute in an apartment on North Empire Court.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department responded to a call at approximately 3:32 a.m. reporting a domestic disturbance inside 304 North Empire Court. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 37-year-old male victim, who informed them that he had been involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect, identified as Ahnalise Bellinger.

According to the victim, during the argument, Bellinger retrieved a kitchen knife and attempted to stab him. Officers took Bellinger into custody at the scene. She was charged with assault and terroristic threats and was held for arraignment.

The investigation remains ongoing, and Bellinger is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court
