EDEN, Md. — A motor vehicle collision on Cottman Road resulted in the death of one passenger and injuries to two others on Monday night, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 10:08 P.M. in the 26000 block of Cottman Road, near Residential Drive.
Preliminary findings indicate that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Cottman Road when it failed to navigate a turn, veered off the roadway, and struck two large trees. The impact ejected the front seat passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a rear seat passenger were transported to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit, with assistance from the Criminal Investigation Division, has taken over the investigation. Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
