Man fatally shot in Queens; suspect at large

QUEENS, N.Y. — A 31-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday morning near Merrick Boulevard and 126th Avenue in Queens, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 6:16 a.m. within the confines of the NYPD’s 113th Precinct. Upon arrival, police learned the man had been shot in the chest and leg by an unidentified suspect, who fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.

The victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The man’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.

As of Sunday, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
