PHILADELPHIA, PA — Daniel Gonzalez was convicted this month of the unprovoked killing of Seitu Harris. The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office announced the conviction Tuesday. Gonzalez and co-defendant Deonte Davis, who remains at large, fatally shot Harris on April 24, 2023.

Surveillance video showed Gonzalez and Davis exiting the Broad Street Line’s Girard Avenue subway stop. Davis was seen exchanging words with Harris near a Cricket Wireless store on Watts Street and Girard Avenue.

Both suspects produced firearms during the encounter and opened fire. Harris was shot multiple times, and a pedestrian was wounded.

Investigators recovered palm prints from the crime scene and SEPTA footage. They identified the suspects through social media, where Gonzalez was seen wearing a distinctive ‘Thrasher’ hoodie and red sneakers.

Gonzalez was arrested on May 8, 2023, and convicted of third-degree murder and related charges by the Hon. Diana Anhalt. Sentencing is scheduled for November 1.
