Man, 36, Shot and Killed in the Bronx Thursday

BRONX, N.Y. — A 36-year-old man died after being shot in the head Thursday afternoon in the Bronx, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call for an assault at 688 East 223rd Street, within the 47th Precinct, at approximately 3:34 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the man with a gunshot wound to his head.

Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead. The man’s identity is being withheld until his family is notified.

No arrests have been made, and police said the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
