Flushing supermarket sells $256 million jackpot-winning Powerball ticket

FLUSHING, NY – A Powerball ticket sold in Flushing has claimed the $256 million jackpot in the Saturday, Dec. 7, drawing, the New York Lottery announced.

The life-changing ticket was purchased at Hua Lian Supermarket, located at 25-03 Parsons Boulevard. It matched all six numbers drawn, making it the sole winner of the massive jackpot.

Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of one through 69, with the red Power Ball drawn separately from a field of one through 26. The highly anticipated drawing, which takes place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., delivered one of the largest jackpots of the year.

The New York Lottery continues to lead North America as the largest and most profitable lottery, contributing $3.8 billion to public education in New York State during fiscal year 2023-2024.
