14-year-old-boys arrested after armed carjacking in Southeast Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — Two 14-year-old males were arrested early Friday following an armed carjacking and a brief chase in Southeast Baltimore, police said.

The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. in the 2400 block of East Fairmount Avenue. According to the Baltimore Police Department, a group of approximately six males, some armed with guns, approached a 39-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, demanded their car keys, and fled the scene in the victims’ vehicle.

Police quickly dispatched a description of the stolen car. Around 2:12 a.m., officers located the vehicle in the 1000 block of North Kenwood Avenue. The suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended after a brief pursuit. A loaded handgun was recovered at the scene.

The two juveniles were taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Justice Center for processing. Authorities have not released information about the other individuals reportedly involved.
