Annapolis Police Blotter: Armed burglary, auto theft, and carjacking incidents reported across city

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis Police Department responded to a series of unrelated but alarming incidents across the city in recent days, including a carjacking, auto theft, and assault during an attempted burglary, according to police reports.

On Sunday night, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Monroe Street at approximately 9:48 p.m. after a victim reported being assaulted by Lisandra Hidalgo Perez. The victim said Perez was caught trying to steal clothing from a dryer. The suspect allegedly attacked the victim during the confrontation. Perez was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree assault, second- and fourth-degree burglary, trespassing, and attempted theft of less than $100.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, police were called to the 1300 block of Roosevelt Street at approximately 10:35 p.m. after a woman reported her 2015 Mazda CX-5 missing. The vehicle, valued at $18,000, had reportedly been parked outside her residence all day with its doors unlocked and the keys left in the center console.

Earlier on Friday morning, at approximately 5:47 a.m., a carjacking was reported on the 200 block of Hilltop Lane. Two unidentified suspects, described as Hispanic males dressed in black and wearing ski masks, allegedly brandished handguns before stealing the victim’s vehicle. The stolen vehicle, which also contained the victim’s cell phone, was later located in Crofton by Anne Arundel County Police.
