FREDERICK, MD — A Prince George’s County man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office announced.

Tully Hamilton Washington, 47, was sentenced by Judge Julia Martz-Fisher in Frederick County Circuit Court following his conviction by a jury on June 27, 2024.

The conviction stems from a July 8, 2023, search conducted by the Frederick Police Department’s Tactical Investigations Unit at a residence on North Maxwell Avenue. Detectives recovered 15.9 grams of cocaine in a bedroom closet where Washington was staying. Prosecutors also presented text messages from Washington’s cellphone, obtained through a court-authorized search warrant, which indicated involvement in drug distribution.

“Motivated by greed, these criminals destroy lives, tear apart families, and wreak havoc in our community,” said State’s Attorney Charlie Smith. “This sentence and the efforts of ASA Tumulty show that those who traffic in highly addictive, illegal drugs will be held accountable here in Frederick.”

Washington will serve his sentence in the Maryland Division of Corrections.
