NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who defaced the Newark Fraternal Order of Police building with red spray paint on January 24.
Surveillance footage captured the incident at approximately 10:20 a.m. outside the building in the 50 block of Rector Street. The suspect, seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, and black pants, was recorded writing on the building’s façade.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. is urging anyone with information to come forward. Officials stress that all Crime Stopper tips will remain confidential and may lead to a reward.

Authorities continue to investigate the act of vandalism as they work to locate the individual responsible.
