Two Elderly Men Arrested for Armed Road Rage Incidents in Maryland

by Breaking Local News Report

PIKESVILLE, Md. – Maryland State Police arrested two men and seized loaded firearms following separate armed road rage incidents in Baltimore and Prince George’s counties.

William Shockey, 71, of Baltimore, and Charles Provost, 70, of College Park, face first- and second-degree assault charges, along with related firearm offenses. Shockey is being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, while Provost awaits an initial court appearance.

On February 18, troopers responded to a complaint on I-695 near Liberty Road, where a victim reported that Shockey brandished a firearm from a red Mustang.

Investigators later located his vehicle and, after executing a search warrant, seized a loaded handgun from his residence.

Hours later, troopers responded to a separate incident on Route 1 in Prince George’s County, where a victim alleged that Provost repeatedly displayed a firearm. A search of his vehicle and residence resulted in the seizure of another loaded handgun.

Maryland State Police continue to investigate highway gun crimes and urge anyone with information about these incidents or ongoing homicide cases to call 410-538-1887.
