Baltimore teen charged in 2024 shooting after already being in custody

BALTIMORE, MD — A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged as an adult for attempted first-degree murder in connection with a 2024 shooting in the Northern District.

Investigators determined that on April 3, 2024, the suspect shot a 26-year-old man while in the 2800 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. Officers later found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds in the 2800 block of Auchentoroly Terrace. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

On March 11, 2025, the suspect, who was already in custody at the Juvenile Justice Center on unrelated charges, was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was formally charged.

The case remains under investigation.
