One arrested, one wanted in Montgomery Village homicide investigation

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — A man is in custody and another remains at large following a fatal shooting that took place on Brookridge Court in Montgomery Village on Saturday, April 26.

Demari Howard Brown, 20, was arrested Thursday, May 1, by Montgomery County Task Force Officers working alongside the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He has been charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery in the death of 20-year-old Henry Krishawn Gilbert, who was also a resident of Montgomery Village.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division have also identified 19-year-old Jorden Nylen Hungerford as a second suspect in the case. Hungerford is currently wanted and remains at large.

The arrest warrant, issued Wednesday, April 30, charges both men in connection with Gilbert’s death. Details about the motive have not yet been released, though investigators say physical evidence ties both suspects to the crime scene.

Brown is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit as he awaits a bond hearing.
