TEANECK, N.J. — A two-alarm fire broke out early Saturday at a residence on Van Arsdale Place, heavily damaging the home and forcing its five occupants to evacuate.

The Teaneck Police Department received multiple 911 calls at approximately 1:14 a.m. reporting flames coming from the attached garage of 104 Van Arsdale Place. According to authorities, all five residents were able to escape the house safely before emergency personnel arrived.

Fire crews from Teaneck, along with mutual aid from Hackensack, Englewood, Bergenfield, and Ridgefield Park, responded to the scene. The garage was fully engulfed in flames, which had spread to the main structure of the home by the time firefighters arrived.

Emergency teams battled the fire for over two hours before bringing it under control. No injuries were reported among the residents or the responding personnel, officials said.

“The home sustained significant damage and has been deemed uninhabitable,” the Teaneck Police Department said in a statement posted to Facebook. “The residents are temporarily displaced and are receiving assistance from family and neighbors.”
