Quick Arrest Made in Northwest D.C. Robbery Attempt WASHINGTON, DC - Following a Northwest robbery attempt, D.C. Metro Police Department’s Third District detectives have swiftly apprehended a suspect. The incident occurred today around 2:53 PM, in the 1200 block of W Street, Northwest. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Lenare Leath, Jr. of Northwest D.C., allegedly brandished a knife and pushed the victim to the ground in an attempt to steal their property. After a struggle, the suspect fled empty-handed but was quickly caught by responding officers. The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. WILKES-BARRE, PA — An 18-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly punching a 69-year-old man in the face during a domestic dispute on West Ross Street.

The altercation occurred at approximately 12:47 p.m. on May 12. Police responded to the residence following a report of a disturbance and made contact with the victim, who said he had gotten into a verbal argument with the suspect, identified as Quannell Fitzgerald, over missing cigarettes.

During the dispute, Fitzgerald allegedly struck the older man multiple times in the face with a closed fist.

Suspect taken into custody without further incident

Officers took Fitzgerald into custody at the scene. He was transported to City Headquarters for processing and arraignment. The extent of the victim’s injuries was not disclosed.
