TRENTON, NJ — The New Jersey Lottery’s recent Green Ball promotion led to more than $1.7 million in additional winnings for Pick-3 players, lottery officials announced Thursday.
Running from May 5 through June 1, the promotion featured a nightly bonus drawing after each evening’s Pick-3 results. A separate machine held six white balls and one green ball. If a green ball was drawn, it triggered a second Pick-3 drawing, allowing players to win again with the same numbers at no extra cost.
Throughout the promotional period, the green ball was drawn six times, resulting in six bonus drawings. These additional rounds generated 15,515 incremental wins and $1,738,120 in prize money.
The Green Ball event marked the first Pick-3 promotion of its kind in over a decade for New Jersey Lottery players.
Players can expect more Green Ball drawings ahead
Due to the overwhelming response and payout results, lottery officials confirmed that a similar promotion is likely to return soon. Full details and updates will be released at a later date.
The New Jersey Lottery has contributed nearly $33.7 billion to the state since 1970, with current profits supporting public employee pensions under a long-term agreement enacted in 2017.
Summary: New Jersey’s Pick-3 Green Ball promotion delivered over $1.7 million in bonus prizes across six extra drawings, with more promotions expected soon.
