Crash suspect caught after fleeing scene in Anne Arundel County

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — A 24-year-old man is in custody after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash that left three people injured in the early morning hours of May 28.

The incident occurred around 1:50 a.m. near Route 100 and Arundel Mills Boulevard, where Anne Arundel County Police responded to a reported multi-vehicle collision. According to police, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Officers tracked the suspect, identified as Malquel Brown of Severn, to the area near Teague Road and Ridge Road. A short foot pursuit followed, ending in Brown’s arrest. Body camera footage captured the moment officers apprehended him.

The crash resulted in injuries to three individuals, though none of the injuries were reported as life-threatening.

Police have not released further details on the charges pending against Brown or the cause of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
