Double murder and five more shot in brutal Baltimore bloody Sunday

One dead, five injured in overnight shootings across Baltimore; separate double homicide under investigation

BALTIMORE, Md. — A violent stretch on Sunday left two men dead and at least five others injured in a series of shootings across multiple districts in Baltimore. The incidents occurred between midnight and early evening on June 22, with investigations now underway citywide.

The day began with Eastern District patrol officers responding at 12:09 a.m. to an area hospital where a 17-year-old female and an 18-year-old female had walked in with gunshot wounds. Detectives later determined they had been shot in the 2600 block of Erdman Avenue. Both were listed with non-life-threatening injuries.

Roughly two hours later, at 2:29 a.m., Central District patrol officers responded to a shooting in the 200 block of East Lombard Street. An 18-year-old male was found shot and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

At 3:03 a.m., officers in the Southwest District were dispatched to the 2600 block of Dulany Street, where a 21-year-old male was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He remains in stable condition.

Later in the afternoon, at 5:32 p.m., Eastern District officers were called to a hospital after a 29-year-old male arrived with gunshot wounds. Investigators believe he was shot in the 1100 block of East North Avenue.

At 1:36 p.m., gunfire in the Southwest District turned deadly. Officers responded to the 2200 block of Christian Street for reports of shots fired and located a 31-year-old male unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Nearby, in the 2100 block of Wilkens Avenue, officers found a second victim, a 24-year-old male, also unresponsive.

Both victims were transported to area hospitals, where they were pronounced dead. Homicide detectives are leading the investigation. No suspect information has been released.

The two shootings are believed to be connected, but the motive remains under investigation.
