JACKSON, N.J. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying a motorcyclist who sped away from a traffic stop on East Veterans Highway early Saturday morning, putting himself and others at serious risk, the Jackson Police Department announced Thursday.
Police said Officer Jamison #303 observed the motorcycle following a vehicle too closely and traveling without a visible New Jersey registration plate near the Jackson First Aid building around 2 a.m. The rider initially slowed for the officer but then accelerated away, heading toward Lakewood at a high rate of speed.
Investigators later determined the suspect turned onto Whitesville Road toward Toms River. Unconfirmed reports indicate the rider may go by the name “Joe” and could live in the Toms River area.
Surveillance video from the Cedar Swamp Wawa shows the suspect operating a dark-colored sport bike, wearing grey sweatpants, a black jacket, and carrying a backpack.

Public urged to share tips
Anyone with information to help identify the suspect is asked to email Officer Jamison at [email protected] or call the police department at 732-928-1111. Anonymous tips are welcome.
Officials stressed that all individuals arrested or charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to confirm the motorcyclist’s identity.
