Baltimore, MD – A man was gunned down in the middle of the afternoon Thursday near a busy intersection in West Baltimore, leaving him seriously wounded and sparking a police investigation into the daylight shooting.

Just before 2 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of North Arlington Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert and 911 calls reported gunfire echoing through the neighborhood. When police arrived, they found a 36-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Initial findings indicate the shooting happened near the intersection of North Arlington Avenue and Mulberry Street, a corridor just blocks from residential housing, corner stores, and schools. The area has seen recurring incidents of violence, and Thursday’s shooting adds to growing concerns among residents.

Detectives from the Southwest District Shooting Unit are leading the investigation and are working to determine a motive and possible suspects. No arrests have been announced, and police have not released a description of any potential shooter.
