Wilkes-Barre Police Arrest Man on Warrant, Find Suspected Narcotics

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A routine patrol led to the arrest of a man with an outstanding warrant, who was also found to be in possession of suspected narcotics, according to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department.

The incident occurred on August 25, 2024, at approximately 2:05 a.m., when officers observed Matthew Milne, 35, of Edwardsville, PA, loitering in the area of 140 North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Upon conducting an investigation, officers discovered that Milne had an active arrest warrant issued by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Milne was taken into custody, and during a search incident to the arrest, officers discovered suspected controlled substances on his person. He was subsequently transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility (LCCF) for processing.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department continues to remind the public that individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation is ongoing.
