NEW YORK, N.Y. — A 37-year-old man was robbed while riding a southbound “7” train late Friday night near the Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue subway station, according to police reports.

The incident occurred on January 10, 2025, at approximately 11:35 p.m., when four unidentified individuals sat down next to the victim. Authorities said the group shoved the man and forcibly took $25 and a cellphone before fleeing the train in an unknown direction.

The victim was not injured during the robbery, police said. No descriptions of the suspects have been provided, and it is unclear whether the incident was captured on subway surveillance footage.

The NYPD is continuing its investigation and has asked anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery to come forward.

Police are working to determine whether the group is connected to any similar incidents on the subway system.
