Teen arrested in chilling D.C. shooting that left three women injured

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A second suspect has been apprehended in connection with a July 2024 triple shooting in Southeast that left three women injured, according to authorities on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 23, at approximately 2:32 p.m. Sixth District officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2900 block of Nelson Place, Southeast, where they found three women suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, a 17-year-old male from Northwest was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree under a D.C. Superior Court Custody Order.

Previously, a 16-year-old male from Southeast was arrested and initially charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). That charge has since been upgraded to Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.
