Take 5 jackpot winners hit big in Brooklyn and Spring Valley

BROOKLYN, NY — Two top-prize winning tickets for the Jan. 24 Take 5 Midday drawing were sold at locations in Brooklyn and Spring Valley, New York Lottery officials announced Monday.

One winning ticket, worth $9,614.50, was sold at Kings 3003 Coney Island, located at 3003 Coney Island Ave. in Brooklyn. The second ticket for the same amount was sold at Virginia Mini Market, located at 19 N Main St. in Spring Valley.

Take 5 is a daily New York Lottery game where players choose numbers from a field of one through 39. Drawings take place twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with results posted shortly thereafter.

Lottery prizes, regardless of the amount, must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

The winning tickets have drawn attention to both stores, which are now recognized as lucky spots for Take 5 players.
