PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Four people were injured in separate overnight shootings, including one involving a domestic dispute and another that led to a hit-and-run with an off-duty officer, authorities said.
In the 19th District, police responded at 2:39 a.m. to a report of a person with a gun near 55th Street and Girard Avenue. A 24-year-old man with a graze wound to his right shoulder flagged down officers at the scene. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
Preliminary information indicates the shooting followed a domestic dispute. A female associate of the victim’s girlfriend allegedly fired at him before fleeing in a white Nissan sedan. No arrests have been made. The Shooting Investigation Group (SIG) is handling the case.
Earlier, around 1:28 a.m. in the 22nd District, officers responded to a shooting and large crowd. A male was found with gunshot wounds to the back and thigh and was transported to Temple University Hospital.
Soon after, a juvenile male and an adult female arrived at the same hospital by private vehicle, both suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims are in stable condition.
Police identified a crime scene in the courtyard of a nearby housing complex where bullet casings, fragments, and blood evidence were recovered.
Shortly after the shooting, an off-duty officer was struck by a vehicle that ran a red light near the scene. The driver fled before police arrived. The officer was taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.
The fleeing vehicle, found to have a visible bullet hole in the windshield, was recovered and towed for further investigation. Authorities believe the initial shooting erupted during a fight at a gathering when several unidentified males opened fire.
SIG continues to investigate both incidents.
