WASHINGTON, DC – Police are searching for two suspects caught on camera after they allegedly pistol-whipped a man and stole his vehicle during a violent armed carjacking late last month in Northeast Washington.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 27, around 9:27 p.m. in the 3700 block of Minnesota Avenue NE, where the victim was sitting inside his parked car when two armed suspects approached him.

Both suspects drew handguns and ordered the victim out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

After the victim complied, one suspect struck him in the head with the weapon before both men fled in the stolen car.

The vehicle has since been recovered, and the Metropolitan Police Department released surveillance images of the suspects on Thursday as the investigation continues.

Detectives from the Sixth District are working to identify the two men, who remain at large, and are urging the public to review the footage and come forward with any tips.

The victim’s current condition has not been disclosed, and police have not stated whether the suspects are believed to be connected to other recent carjackings in the area.

The surveillance footage was collected from nearby cameras and shows both suspects moments before the carjacking, police said.
