Pennsylvania Lottery player hits $515K jackpot at Ashland tobacco shop
Ashland, PA – One lucky lottery player walked away with more than half a million dollars after purchasing a winning Fast Play ticket Monday at a Schuylkill County tobacco shop.
According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, a top prize-winning Money Power Progressive ticket worth $515,706 was sold at Smokin’ Joe’s Tobacco Shop, located at 706 Centre Street in Ashland Borough. The ticket was printed on September 15 and is part of the Fast Play lineup — instant-win games available at lottery terminals and self-service kiosks.
Smokin’ Joe’s will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The Money Power Progressive game starts with a base top prize of $350,000, which grows until someone wins it. Tickets cost $20, and unlike traditional scratch-offs, Fast Play games require no scratching or waiting for a drawing.
The identity of the winner has not yet been released. The Pennsylvania Lottery advises anyone holding the winning ticket to sign the back immediately and contact the lottery office at 1-800-692-7481. Players have one year from the ticket’s purchase date to claim their prize.
All prizes over $5,000 are subject to applicable withholding. The ticket must be validated before any prize money is awarded.
