Akron man killed by stray bullet while asleep as police search for multiple suspects
Akron, OH – A 27-year-old man was shot and killed in his sleep after gunfire erupted outside his home on Keys Place last October, and now police are asking for help identifying several individuals caught on camera who may be connected to the deadly shooting.
Neiko Swesey was inside his apartment on October 25 when multiple rounds were fired outside. One of those bullets pierced through his home and struck him as he slept, fatally wounding him. Akron Police released images of several persons of interest and are urging the public to assist in identifying them.
Detectives believe the shooting was not targeted at Swesey, and he was caught in the crossfire during the incident. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, and the investigation remains open.
Photos of individuals believed to have knowledge of the shooting have now been distributed across police channels and social media. The department emphasized that even small details could help lead to arrests in the case.
