Two more arrests expand homicide investigation into deadly shooting
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three juveniles, including two arrested days after the shooting, have now been charged in connection with the killing of a 15-year-old boy and the wounding of another victim in Columbus.
The shooting occurred at approximately 5:48 p.m. on July 22 in the 700 block of Canonby Place.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers found two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Fifteen-year-old Deniro M. Arnold was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m.
A second victim, an adult, was also transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Police said detectives arrested a 17-year-old on July 28. The juvenile was charged with murder and felonious assault.
On July 31, detectives arrested two additional juveniles, ages 13 and 14. Both were charged with murder and robbery in connection with the shooting.
Because the suspects are juveniles, their identities have not been released.
The charges are allegations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
