Veteran administrator Charles W. Terefenko named Jackson Township business administrator

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Jackson Township has appointed Charles W. Terefenko as its new Business Administrator, selecting a veteran public servant with decades of experience in municipal management, public safety, and homeland security to guide the town’s daily operations.

Terefenko, who previously served as Borough Administrator and Director of Public Safety for Tinton Falls, will oversee all Township departments, implement policies set by the Mayor and Township Council, and ensure the efficient delivery of municipal services. His appointment marks a significant step in Jackson’s ongoing effort to strengthen local governance and administrative oversight.

Before joining Tinton Falls, Terefenko held senior positions with the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Middletown Township Police Department. A U.S. Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm, he also holds a Master of Public Administration and advanced leadership certifications recognized by the State of New Jersey.

Terefenko has served as an adjunct professor at Monmouth University and Brookdale Community College, teaching courses in public administration, homeland security, and criminal justice.
