Gunfire shatters quiet Linden block as bullets hit parked car
Linden, NJ — A burst of gunfire sent people running through a Linden neighborhood Wednesday night, leaving behind a damaged vehicle but no reported injuries.
Officers responded around 9:00 p.m. to the 1000 block of Summit Terrace after receiving reports of a shooting. When police arrived, they encountered several individuals fleeing the area.
Investigators located a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire, though no victims were found at the scene.
Detectives said preliminary findings indicate the shooting was not random and that there is no ongoing threat to the general public.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine what led to the gunfire.
